You Said It: About a reservoir, Sears and a deadly, high-speed crash

THB: It’s all good: Another local retail outlet, local investors and some jobs.

Police say the adults behaved irresponsibly in the March 10 accident that killed three, saying the accident was a result of a “speed game” (March 14)

  •  “Speed games they said. it will be fun they said ...”
  •  “Sometimes good people can do stupid things and, yes, this was one of them, but it’s sad to see good lives taken over speed. ... Godspeed to the deceased and prayers to all ...”

THB: Tragic.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence opposes provision to expand gambling. (March 13)

  •  “My new governor better watch his words. A lot of people in this state love gaming and it brings lots of entertainment here. Hoosier Park supports lots of activities and has an awesome venue for such things. Horse racing, gaming, live entertainment ... kill the funding ... veto the live table games we are getting and everyone will leave this state again in droves for their entertainment. This venue brings lots of jobs to us here in Anderson! Please don’t kill it!”

THB: Agreed, this proposal does not expand gambling, it enhances it. Hoosier Park is a great venue, a good community partner and provides many jobs. Let’s not jeopardize that.
