Letter: Bible establishes moral absolutes

There has been pressure from the White House for the Boy Scouts to allow gays into its organization. I think this pressure is wrong. I’ll explain why. It’s a lesson that our government and populace have repeatedly failed to learn.

By allowing gays into the Boy Scouts, basically, it acknowledges that the gay lifestyle is totally acceptable. People are becoming more “desensitized” to immoral standards as being the norm. After the gay lifestyle becomes more acceptable in our society, then some other immoral standard will be peddled as being totally acceptable. Gradually, step-by-step, our society is being taken down the road of decadence.

Much of this process can be initially traced back when they took prayer out of the schools in the early 1960s. In 1973, Roe v. Wade came along and still remains. Tolerance and compromise of moral standards have been in evidence since.

There are moral absolutes. This is not what our government, nor does much of populace desire to hear today. The anti-Christ spirit behind this attitude would contend that there are no moral absolutes. Why, because we, as man, have decreed it so. This humanistic and secular mind-set opposes the concept of moral absolutes. That’s also why, in essence, the Ten Commandments are not in public buildings anymore.

The Word of God (Bible) establishes moral absolutes. I’ve got a word for our government and populace. Truth is absolute and will always prove its course. You can believe me now, or you can believe me later, but you will believe me.
