The Alberta Bowman Volunteer Income Tax Assistance tax center will assist county residents in preparing taxes at the First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson St., Anderson, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays each week from Jan. 26 through April 14.
Appointments are necessary and may be made by calling the church office at (765) 643-6977.
Clients should bring the following information: Copy of 2007 tax return, 2008 tax booklet, if available, all income forms, all other income statements, real estate taxes paid in 2008, amount of economic stimulus payment received in 2008 (rebate).
Volunteers will also be available at the Birch Bayh Senior Center in Elwood on March 11 and at the Lapel Library March 19.
Tax preparation volunteers are John Barclay, Richard Campbell, Steve Custer, Esther Decker, Jack Eflin, Jackie Hensley, Don Grollimund, Lynn Scott, Frances Vance, Merrillyn Vance, Rebecca Wickersham, Judy Witt and Gene Weed.
