NEWS (April 23): Lisa Floyd to assume new role at South Madison Community Foundation

Pendleton News

The board of directors of South Madison Community Foundation has announced the appointment of Lisa Floyd as the foundation’s executive director beginning July 1. Floyd will replace the current executive director, Dick Creger, who will retire at the end of June after leading the foundation since its inception 16 years ago.

Floyd has served as the foundation’s program director/associate director since May 2007, and is a familiar face in the community due to her extensive involvement over the past 20-plus years in community relations, educational initiatives, philanthropic endeavors and special event coordination in Madison county.

Prior to her position with South Madison Community Foundation, Floyd served as development director/program officer of Madison County Community Foundation, where she oversaw post-secondary education scholarship and competitive grants processes, managed the Lilly Endowment Scholarship Program, assisted with donor development and stewardship, and served as liaison with high school counselors in all of Madison County.

In addition to a number of volunteer affiliations, Floyd served as director of the Paramount Festival of Trees for six years, chairwoman of the Festival of Trees Gala for the past nine years, and has been instrumental in coordinating events such as the Little 500 Festival and the Paramount Theatre 75th Anniversary Celebration. Floyd is a member of the Anderson Noon Rotary and the Pendleton Lions Club.

“I am honored to be chosen to follow in the footsteps of an outstanding foundation director to continue the important service that South Madison Community Foundation provides to our community and its residents. The philanthropic generosity of our donors enables SMCF to be the catalyst for positive change and I am blessed to help foster that link,” Floyd said in a press release.

South Madison Community Foundation was founded as a public charity in 1992 with a mission of encouraging philanthropy by assisting donors in finding charitable causes and community projects in order to enhance community-wide quality of life.

The foundation is governed by an eleven-person volunteer board of directors representing Adams, Fall Creek, Green and Stony Creek Townships.

“We are very fortunate at South Madison Community Foundation to have someone with Lisa’s qualifications to step into the executive director’s position,” said board President Jim Shoup. “The board of directors is confident that Lisa’s experience and talents will allow our community foundation to continue to achieve its mission. We will all miss Dick Creger. He has been the face of South Madison Community Foundation since 1992, and has provided outstanding leadership during his 16 years as our executive director. We wish Dick all the best in his retirement.”
