Ralph E. Miller
PENDLETON — Ralph E. Miller, 80, Pendleton, died April 19, 2008.
He was self-employed in the oil business for many years. He also drove a school bus for South Madison Community School Corporation for many years. He was most known, however, as “Chief Miller,” serving the Pendleton Fire Department for 34 years; 30 years as chief.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Evelyn (Johnson) Miller; son, Charlie Miller; daughter, Jennie (husband, Dave) Young; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandson; sisters, Dorothy Flora, Marie Angle and Mary Huntzinger; and a brother, Donald Miller.
A Celebration of Life service was held April 22 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, officiated by Michael Canada, Dick Godbey and Kurt Kahl. Burial was in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
