Library offers crime scene workshop
With over 18 million viewers each week, CSI is a television hit. The Pendleton Community Public Library is planning a workshop to give participants an inside look into the reality of crime scene investigations on May 17 at 10 a.m. in the community room.
Two of the top investigators and crime novelists of the United States will share the ins and outs of real-life CSI. Iowa’s Lt. Chris Kaufman is one of the few Certified Latent Print Examiners in the United States and has worked as a detective and crime scene investigator on hundreds of cases. Kaufman will describe how crime scene investigations are conducted. Chicago’s Matthew Clemens, President of Robin Vincent Publishing LLC, will focus on the science of forensics and how it can fit within the confines of fiction writing. Clemens is also the uncredited co-author and researcher for Max Allan Collins’ series of books based on the CSI television series.
The day-long workshop is free and open to the public. The program is co-sponsored by Writer’s Ink of Central Indiana.
Registration is required. Call the library at (765) 778-7527 if you plan to attend.
