The Delaware County Safety Council will hold its May membership meeting on Thursday at Ivy Tech Community College, 4301 S. Cowan Road, Muncie.
Bill Gosnell, director of the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency and Delaware County Emergency Communications Center, will present “Disaster Preparedness.”
Do you know what to do in your place of business if a disaster occurs? Are you currently prepared for a disastrous event? Gosnell will provide valuable information to answer these questions and more.
Before assuming his present position as director of Delaware County Emergency Management Agency in 1998, he was a pParamedic with the Delaware County Emergency Medical Services. During his 20-year tenure with EMS, he was also a critical care registered nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital. Gosnell served as a SWAT medic and spent several years in Alaska as a certified commercial deep-sea diver.
Gosnell was a certified EMT-P until retiring from Delaware County EMS. He holds a Master of Science degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner as well a registered nurse specializing in emergency medicine.
He also completed the Professional Development Series sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency/Department of Homeland Security and numerous specialized educational programs dealing with emergency management topics.
