ANDERSON — Ladies of the Isabel Society are getting ready for their annual autumn dinner and night of entertainment to help raise funds for the Harter House and Vermillion Place, among other projects.
“The ongoing support of the Isabel Society provides a great sense of security for us,” said Leanne Shearer, who serves as staff liaison between the Society and United Faith Housing.
The dinner is Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Harter House, 600 Main St., Anderson. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Harter House by calling 642-7600. The general chairs for the event are Marilyn Hunt and Norma Newcomer.
As part of the evening, there will be performance by The Adagio Ringers, a bell-ringing choir.
Entertainment chair Mary Falkenberry said patrons will hear the musical talent of Mary Margaret Wilbank, Carol Reynolds, Barbara Bowman and Rhea Parshall.
A sampling of the food fare, arranged by Diane Sepeta and Becky Ball, includes cracker snack mix, party meatballs, cucumber sandwiches, pickle roll-ups with smoked ham and red raspberry chocolate bars, among other treats.

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
1 egg, beaten
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 (12 oz.) jar seedless red raspberry jam
