---- — Thanksgiving dinner at Geater Center

ANDERSON — The Gospel Highlight Radio Broadcast 31st annual community Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Geater Center, 1611 Chase St. Delivery service for the sick and shut-in only begins at 10:30 a.m.

Orders for delivery must be made by 3 p.m. today by calling Lester Harris at 649-1503 or Winston Lovelace at 610-5343.

Breakfast served at 40&8 Sunday

ANDERSON — An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the 40&8, 1600 Rangeline Road. The meal will include eggs (cooked to order), hash browns, biscuits and gravy, bacon, coffee, orange juice, and pancakes. Takeout is available and cost is $7.

K of C hosts Nov. 30 blood drive

ANDERSON — The Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St., will host a blood drive from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Lapel has annual Scouting For Food

LAPEL — The Lapel Boy Scouts are organizing the annual Scouting for Food drive for the Lapel area. They are being joined this year by the Girl Scouts, Ford Street Church youth, Trinity Church youth, and the high school football and basketball teams. The food drive will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.

The groups will be going door to door asking for food donations that will be used to help fill the food pantry in Lapel.

Donations should include nonperishable foods, paper goods, toothbrushes and paste, etc. This annual service project nets bags of food that can be distributed locally during the holiday season and beyond.

Band performs Wednesday at Legion

PENDLETON — The Pendleton American Legion Post 117, 611 W. State St., will host a “Night Before Thanksgiving Bash” featuring the Philo Beddoe Band playing classic/southern/country rock.

Show begins at 8 p.m. is open to the public and there is no cover.

Garden club sets holiday dinner

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria’ SmallTown Garden Club will have its annual carry-in Christmas dinner at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the Community Center.

If you were not at the November meeting or haven’t had a call from the committee regarding the menu, please call Marilyn Lenhart at 724-7999. The club will assist with the Alexandria toy drive. If you wish to participate you may bring an unwrapped $10 toy or donate $10.

Christmas bazaar Dec. 7

ATLANTA — Aroma United Methodist Church, 16301 E. 281st St., will have its annual Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Santa will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
