Presentation addresses women’s health

ANDERSON — The Erskine Rehabilitation Center at St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital will give free presentations about women’s pelvic health at the YMCA in Anderson and Pendleton.

Physical therapist Jonni Davy will discuss urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor issues in Anderson on Aug. 13 at 11:30 a.m. at the Anderson YMCA, 28 W. 12th St. Call 644-7796 to register.

She will be speaking at the Pendleton YMCA, 6511 S. Indiana 67, just past Huntsville Road, on Aug. 20 at 11:30 a.m. Call the YMCA at 221-7508 to make a reservation.

Urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor issues affect one in four women. Many types of incontinence are related to a lack of strength in the pelvic floor muscles, which can be strengthened through physical therapy.

Shoe Event set for Aug. 10-11

ANDERSON — United in Christ Church, 538 E. 31st St., will have its Women's Group Butterfly Shoe Event on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 10-11.

On Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, the guest speaker will be Pastor Sharon White. On Sunday, Aug. 11, Pastor Louis Jackson Jr. will speak at 12:30 p.m.

Haygood-Hilligoss family reunion, Sept. 8

PENDLETON — The Haygood-Hilligoss family reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Falls Park Conservation Building in Pendleton.

Bring a dish and/or dessert and drink. Lunch will be at 1 p.m. Anyone related to Haygood or Hilligoss is welcome to come and enjoy visiting and/or meeting family members.

Florida Station to host Dan's Fish Fry

ANDERSON — Florida Station Church of God, 1045 W. 375N, will host a Dan's Fish Fry on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $9 for adults; $5 for children (ages 5-12); and children under 5 eat free. This is for all-you-can-eat fish and tenderloin.

Carryout and drive-through service will be available.

Proceeds will benefit Sonshine Day Care and Florida Station Missions.

Wildlife Resource Fair at Mounds Park

ANDERSON — Visitors to Mounds State Park on Aug. 10 can learn about organizations that help animals and promote conservation during the third annual Wildlife Resource Fair.

The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be groups representing exotic animal rescues, wildlife rehabilitation, bird watching, pet adoption and more.

Visitors can also see live native and non-native animals on the visitors center lawn. Additional activities include presentations and crafts throughout the afternoon.

The Friends of Mounds State Park group will sell handmade bird feeders and birdhouses and will sponsor a food tent.
