Epilepsy Support Group to meet Monday

ANDERSON — The next Epilepsy Support Group meeting will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Park Place Community Center, 802 E. Fifth St., Anderson.

Legion selling burgers on Tuesdays

LAPEL — The Lapel American Legion now has mini burger sliders every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The cost is 75 cents for each or 4 for $3. The legion is located south of the Ricker's on Ind. 32, Lapel.

VFW celebrating Fourth of July

ANDERSON — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave., Anderson, will host a July 4th celebration beginning at 5 p.m. There will be Polish sausage, hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill. Donated fireworks at dusk.

'Grew Up in Anderson' holds Meet-n-Greet

ANDERSON — The "If You Grew Up in Anderson, Indiana" Facebook page members will host the second annual Meet and Greet on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Shadyside Park, Anderson, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Those attending may bring picnic foods. Charcoal, ice and condiments will be provided. Food vendors will also be set up.

Operation Love offering school uniforms

ANDERSON — Operation Love Ministries will be hosting a CAN grant school uniform giveaway beginning July 1 at 9:30 a.m. You must call for an appointment. Appointments will be held between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. and between 1:30 and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

No walk-ins will be allowed.

Once an appointment time has been scheduled, the primary caregiver must bring their picture identification, school enrollment confirmation letter for each child listing primary caregiver. The name listed on the letter and on the identification card must match the person bringing them. A birth certificate and proof of address is required for each child. Clients must have all the information for each child before being seen. If you have received free uniform items in the past three years, you are not eligible this year.

Operation Love will take appointments until funding is finished. If you miss an appointment, you will not be reassigned a new time. To schedule an appointment, call 644-2121 beginning July 1 at 9:30 a.m.

MHHS class of 1993 celebrates

ANDERSON — The Madison Heights High School Class of 1993 will celebrate its 20th reunion July 13 at The Edge.

Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., followed by dancing. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Payment must be postmarked by Monday, July 1. Paypal payments accepted. For information call 641-7034 or email

Spring Valley Quilt Guild to hold picnic

PENDLETON — To celebrate the nation’s birthday, the Spring Valley Quilt Guild will hold its Annual Fourth of July Picnic on July 3. Starting at 6 p.m. the guild will enjoy a pitch-in dinner, social hour, and other previously announced activities. The guild will provide the entrée, table service, and beverages. There will be time for Show and Tell and items with a patriotic theme are suggested for this meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Pendleton Community Library on Water Street and commences promptly at 6 p.m. Guests and prospective new quilters are always cordially welcome.

Freedom Concert set for July 3

ALEXANDRIA — The annual Freedom Concert performed by the Alexandria Community Band will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Park.
