MHHS class of 1993 celebrates

ANDERSON — The Madison Heights High School Class of 1993 will celebrate its 20th reunion July 13 at The Edge.

Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., followed by dancing. Cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Payment must be postmarked by Monday, July 1. Paypal payments accepted. For information call 641-7034 or email class93MHHS@gmail.com.

Spring Valley Quilt Guild to hold picnic

PENDLETON — To celebrate the nation’s birthday, the Spring Valley Quilt Guild will hold its Annual Fourth of July Picnic on July 3. Starting at 6 p.m. the guild will enjoy a pitch-in dinner, social hour, and other previously announced activities. The guild will provide the entrée, table service, and beverages. There will be time for Show and Tell and items with a patriotic theme are suggested for this meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Pendleton Community Library on Water Street and commences promptly at 6 p.m. Guests and prospective new quilters are always cordially welcome.

Freedom Concert set for July 3

ALEXANDRIA — The annual Freedom Concert performed by the Alexandria Community Band will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Park.

    A small group of amputees gathered for the Second Annual Show Your Mettle Day at Frazier’s Dairy Maid on Friday. The event, which offered free ice cream to amputees thanks to Prevail Prosthetics and Orthotics, served as a meet and greet to help support limb loss awareness in the community.
