New Life to have Eggs-Extravaganza

ANDERSON — New Life Apostolic Church is hosting its annual Easter Eggs-Extravaganza on Saturday, March 30, from noon to 2 p.m. at the UAW hall, at 29th and Madison Avenue.

There will be Easter egg hunts for children up to 4 years old and children 5 to 10 years old. Activities include games and door prizes for the adults. The event is open to the public.

Easter basket raffle to help Bids for Kids

ANDERSON — More than 100 Easter baskets will be raffled off Saturday in the center of Mounds Mall as the Friends for L.I.F.E. Club from Lambert’s Music Center raises money for Bids for Kids and child abuse prevention in Madison County.

Raffle tickets will be sold from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at which time a drawing for each basket will be held. A stretch of 20 tickets will sell for $5 and each ticket may be dropped into a cup next to the basket people would like to try and win. In addition to Easter baskets, several children’s bicycles will be raffled.

Library to rock ’n’ roll with sock hop

PENDLETON — Reservations are still being taken for Saturday’s 1 p.m. sock hop at Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St.

All ages are invited.  There will be prizes for the best costume and the funniest socks. You can watch or rock around the clock with disc jockey Matthew Stephenson. Dave and Josh Ellison, owners of Pendleton’s Gathering Grounds Coffee Shop, will play some of attendees’ favorite songs. Elvis Presley (Scotty Zion) will also be on hand.

Markleville Easter egg hunt is Saturday

MARKLEVILLE — Psi Phi Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt at noon Saturday at the Hardy Building on Indiana 38 and Markleville Road in      Markleville.

There will be three age groups up to age 10. Take pictures with the Easter Bunny. There will be drawings for Easter baskets full of toys and other goodies.

Roller derby to have Spring Break Brawl

ANDERSON — East Central Roller Derby presents the Vicious Vixens versus the Bashing Bombshells in a bout Saturday at Anderson Roll Arena, 2711 Broadway.

Tickets for adults are $10 presale or $12 at door; children 3-12 are $5 and those under 3 are free. Doors open at 5 p.m. The match is 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit Bids for Kids. The halftime band will be The Chicago Typewriters.

McLaughlin to be at Good Friday service

ANDERSON — Madison Park Church of God will host recording artist and worship leader Sarah McLaughlin for a Good Friday Service on March 29 at 6 p.m.

McLaughlin’s jazz-inspired sounds creates an eclectic tapestry of Christ’s love and compassion, organizers said. Admission is free.

Wilkinson UMC sets Good Friday service

WILKINSON —  The Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church will host a Community Good Friday Service at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

The pastor of the Wilkinson Church of Christ, Ryan McCarty, will deliver the message.
