No MOB registration Thursday

ANDERSON — Merchants Older Buddies (MOB) registration has been canceled for Thursday.

The registration offers discounts to those 60 years of age and older at various area merchants.

The next registration will be in February.

THB seeks homes to feature

ANDERSON — The Herald Bulletin is seeking area homes to feature in our Sunday Community pages.

Mounds State Park events Sunday

ANDERSON — Mounds State Park, 4306 Mounds Road, will host two events Sunday at the Visitor Center.

At 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. the Hoosier Quest Pin Program will be explained and visitors can find out about earning a special Mounds State Park collector pin by completing five special challenges.

At 2 p.m., the park continues its series Cocoa and a Movie with the showing of “Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time.” This hour-long film highlights the conservationist Leopold’s career, tracing how he shaped the modern environmental movement. Cocoa will be provided and candy available for purchase. Meet at the Visitors Center.

Eagles to host Saturday breakfast

ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles Aerie 174, 1315 Meridian St., will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Mirror Room.

Adult price is $6 for all-you-can-eat sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, coffee and juice.

The event is open to the public.

Library book sale Friday, Saturday

ANDERSON -- The Friends of the Library will host a two-day book sale Friday and Saturday from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the third floor bookstore at Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., Anderson.

Legion cancels dinner

ANDERSON -- The American Legion Post 127 has canceled its Thursday pork chop dinner.

Drafts & Laughs at HP

ANDERSON -- Beginning Thursday and each Thursday through March 27, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino will host Drafts & Laughs at 8 p.m. in the Terrace Showroom.

Comedians will include Brett Eastburn from “The Bob & Tom Show” this Thursday; Keith Bender, funniest comic from Cincinnati/Columbus winner on Jan. 16; Bill Bushart, Detroit’s funniest comic winner on Jan. 23; and BT, from the HBO and “The Bob and Tom Show,” on Jan. 30.

There is no cover charge.

Paramount changes event dates

ANDERSON -- Dance classes at the Paramount Theatre originally scheduled for Jan. 7 have been moved to Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The Open Jam for this Friday has been moved to Friday, Jan. 17.

Red Hat Chicks meet Jan. 15

ANDERSON -- The Pendleton Red Hat Chicks will meet at noon Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Hibachi Grill, 5567 Scatterfield Road, Anderson. Reservations: Members call Barbara Mercer, 778-3868.
