Loss leads to foundation

Local couple launches Frederick's Friends at 2 area hospitals

ANDERSON — For all parents, the loss of a child is not something they ever want to think about and pray it is something they never have to deal with. Unfortunately, it is something many couples everywhere have to deal with.

Kyle Noone and his wife, Danielle Dunnichay-Noone, turned the loss of their son into something that can help parents in Madison County through the grieving process. They officially launched the Frederick’s Friends foundation Tuesday at Community Hospital Anderson.

In October 2012, the Noones were informed their son Frederick’s heart had stopped beating while Danielle was 35 weeks pregnant. Noone said his wife gave birth to their stillborn son and they were able to hold the baby and take pictures. But Noone said they were left wishing something else could be done to memorialize their “angel.”

Noone said they had heard of parents in larger communities getting kits where they can make plastic casts of their baby’s hands and feet for a special memorial. A dentist in Elwood gave them the kit they needed to make a cast of Frederick’s hands and feet.

Noone said they thought a way to honor Frederick’s spirit was to start a foundation, named Frederick’s Friends, which gives couples who have lost children kits so they too can have something very tangible to remember their lost angel.

“We were thinking of ways we could honor Frederick’s being,” Noone said. “And we thought it was important to try and help other families going through the same thing.”

When going through the grieving process, Noone said that anything, including a small cast of a baby’s hands and feet, can be extremely helpful.

“It seems like such a small thing to some people,” Noone said. “But it is a good way to memorialize a lost angel.”
