Soverns completes basic training

Air Force Airman Spencer C. Soverns graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Soverns is the son of Rachel Soverns of Boonville, N.Y., and Claynton Soverns of Markleville, Ind.

He is a 2012 graduate of Adironpack High School, Boonville, N.Y.

Ellingwood graduates from Navy training

United States Sailor Mason J. Ellingwood graduated from basic training at the U.S. Navy Recruit training command in Great Lakes, Ill.

He completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies. He graduated his division with rank as a fireman.

Because of his almost perfect test score upon entering the Navy he is now stationed in Charleston, S.C., where he is completing classes at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command after completing Nuclear Field A. School. He will be an electrician's mate.

Ellingwood is the son of Linda and Randy Ellingwood and the grandson of Claudia and Larry Wyatt, and Judy and Gary Ellingwood. He is a 2010 graduate of Frankton Jr./Sr. High School.
