— Adopt-a-Senior – Individuals, groups, businesses and organizations are invited to adopt one or more seniors by providing bags of everyday items and nonperishable food for AngelWish. Those who wish to adopt a senior can contact Bray so they can tailor their donations.
All donations, including cash contributions, can be delivered to the agency’s headquarters at 1701 S. Pilgrim Blvd., Yorktown. The offices are just off Ind. 32 east of Yorktown. Donations are needed by Dec 6 to enable volunteers to deliver items before the end of the year.
Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the items, and those interested in helping can contact Bray. All volunteers must agree to a background check and be willing to sign an Angel Log to keep track of the hours they spend helping with the project.
Volunteers are needed year-round by the agency for those who are interested in getting involved in making a long-term commitment to help area seniors and people with disabilities.
“We offer several options for volunteers to get involved, from helping at Senior Cafe sites to office help to directly working with individuals in need,” Bray said. Last year, 293 volunteers contributed 19,024 hours of assistance.
