Bus company to host Trunk n’ Treat

ANDERSON -- Anderson Transit System, Inc, (local school bus company) will host its second annual Trunk n’ Treat on Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot on John Street across from the Wigwam.

Alexandria Halloween festivities

ALEXANDRIA -- A Safe Halloween party will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Harrison Square Park in Alexandria. Trick-or-treaters may also visit the Alexandria Public Library for treats at 7 p.m.; and the Alexandria Church of God from 6 to 8 p.m. Trick-or-treat hours for the city are 6 to 8 p.m.

40&8 to host Sunday breakfast

ANDERSON -- An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Madison County 40&8, Voiture 510, 1600 Rangeline Road.

The menu includes eggs (cooked to order), hash browns, biscuits and gravy, bacon, coffee, orange juice, and pancakes. Carry-out will be available.

Cost is $7.

Markleville to host Trunk-or-Treat

MARKLEVILLE - The Town of Markleville will have a Trunk-or-Treat in the parking lot of Town Hall on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. (also hours of trick-or-treating).

Hay rides will also be available.

Holiday Bazaar at Park Place COG

ANDERSON -- There is still space to exhibit and sell at the Annual Holiday Art & Craft Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Park Place Church of God. The bazaar is open to all artisans, crafters and retailers.

Breakfast and lunch will be available at a nominal fee.

Table/space is $20 each, 2 tables/space $35, 3 tables/space $50, or 4 tables/space $70. Proceeds from rental of booths will go to benefit the 2014 Uganda Mission Team.

FUMC to host Trunk-and-Treat

ANDERSON -- Trunk and Treat in the parking lot of First United Methodist Church at the corner of 12th and Jackson in downtown Anderson.

  • FEA - HB0413 - volunteer Brian Morson - JC 39 A helping hand Brian Morson’s time as a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital started as a patient when he had a hip injury. After he made a comment that hospitals in London have greeters, the director of Volunteer Services at the time told him he had the perfect voice and accent to do it at St. Vincent. Twelve years later, he’s volunteered more than 4,500 hours.
