---- — ‘Holy-Ween’ Party slated for Thursday

ANDERSON — Allen Chapel, 1610 Sheridan St., will host a “Family Night Free Holy-Ween Party” from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

There will be fun, food, and fellowship. All ages can join in for free Halloween treats, candy, crafts, and a hot meal.

Come learn about Peter Pumpkin, Christian Jack-O-Lantern, and what the Pumpkin Prayer is all about.

Frankton Legion to host hay ride party

FRANKTON — The Frankton American Legion Post 469, 116 Washington St., will have a hay ride for the kids on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

From 8 to 9 p.m., there will be a costume party along with hot dogs and marshmallows. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place on Saturday on the back of the legion on the patio.

Harvest Bazaar set for Nov. 15

FRANKTON — Frankton Elementary School will host a Harvest Bazaar on Friday, Nov. 15, in the school gymnasium from 3 to 8 p.m.

Items available will include boutique “treasures,” crafts and homemade foods.

This event is sponsored by the Student Council with proceeds benefiting foster children in Madison County. The Student Council will be purchasing small suitcases/duffel bags, and stuffed animals for caseworkers to present to children as they are being removed from their homes to be placed in foster care.

Vendor space is available for $10.

World Community Day Friday

ANDERSON — Church Women United of Madison County Area 8 will present World Community Day 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 2124 Cedar St.

This year’s theme is “Behold, I Stand at the Door and Knock. Walking through Doors of Opportunity.”

Celebration Church hosts Harvest Party

ANDERSON — A Harvest Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Celebration Church at Arrow Heights, 1120 Arrow Ave.

This free community event includes candy, inflatable bounce house, cooking decorating, games, story time and more.

AHS to present ‘The Matchmaker’

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Theater Arts department will present “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder as its fall production. Performances will be Nov. 22-23 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. at the AHS auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Legion hosting pool tournaments

FRANKTON — The Frankton American Legion Post 469 will begin pool tournaments this Saturday at 1 p.m. and run through the end of March.

Cost is $5 a person.

NHS hosting Dairy Queen fundraiser

CHESTERFIELD — The Daleville Jr./Sr. High School National Honor Society will host a fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Chesterfield Dairy Queen.

During that time, 10 percent of all sales will be donated to the NHS for senior scholarships.

MCHS Pioneer Era exhibit

ANDERSON -- The Madison County Historical Society’s newest exhibit, the “Pioneer Era In Madison County - 1820 to 1850” will be on display through the end of the year.

The exhibit features displays of items such as tools to clear the land and build log cabins, a large collection of period glassware, china, pottery and much more.

The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednsdays and Fridays at the History Center, 7 W. 11th St., and from 10 a.m. to p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
