Noon Lions meet Thursday
ANDERSON — The Anderson Noon Lions Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson St., for lunch with the program to follow at 2:25 p.m. There is an elevator available and free parking available in the rear.
Everyone is invited, lunch is $7 and the program is free
Guest speaker will be Jill Scott from Bethany Pointe Health Campus. Jill will discuss the various ways that Bethany Pointe can benefit seniors, including long term care, rehab to home, assisted living, and their newly built independent senior living villas and Memory Care Unit. Literature on Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage plans will be available for distribution for you to consider during the upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment period.
Vet appreciation dinner planned
LAPEL — The Lapel American Legion will have a veterans appreciation pitch-in at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The pitch-in is open to all veterans and guests. Bring a covered dish or finger food of your choice. The legion will provide chili and some broasted chicken.
Smith's Family & Friends Concert Nov. 22
ANDERSON — Tickets are on sale now for the George Smith Family & Friends Christmas Concert The performance features soloists George S. Smith at the fabulous Grande Page Theatre Pipe Organ, Dr. Jamie Boe (The singing veterinarian) Tim Wilbur, Kurt Stickradt on piano, Joe Garvin on sax and Peggy Garvin, who will be reading to the children.
Mistress of Ceremonies is Norma Smith and her co-host Johnny Wilson and Carl Erskine. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. Tickets are $5. each all general admission and can be purchased at the Paramount Theatre box office Tuesday through Friday or at George Smith's Music Center, 2030 Raible Ave. Monday through Saturday.
Eagles hosting Saturday breakfast
ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles Aerie 174, 1315 Meridian St., will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday downstairs in the Mirror Room.
Cost is $6. Menu includes sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, toast, coffee and juice.
Elwood prayer rally Nov. 12
ELWOOD — Youth for Christ will sponsor a citywide Prayer Rally for Elwood High School and faculty at 7 p.m., Nov. 12 at the school's cafeteria.
Toys for Tots fundraiser Nov. 17
CHESTERFIELD — American Legion Post 408 and The Rockerettes and Karaoke Family, will host a Toys for Tots fundraiser from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the post, 5100 Mounds Road.
Karaoke, food, raffles and door prizes are planned. Kids karaoke will be from 3 to 3:30. The event is open to the public and those attending should bring an unwrapped toy or $2 donation. There will also be a food drive.
Frankton fall bazaar set Nov. 16
FRANKTON — The Frankton First United Methodist Church will host its fall bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be crafts, homemade candies, and homemade chicken and noodles and scalloped chicken available by quarts and pints while they last; bake sale of dry noodles, cookies, pies, cakes and breads.
Proceeds go towards the Christmas Families, college care packages, scholarships, Beauty for Ashes and more.
The bazaar will be in the community room in The Factory across from the church at Eighth and Sigler streets.
ACS retired secretaries meet
ANDERSON — Anderson Community Schools Retired Secretaries will meet for its monthly luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Monday at MCL Restaurant in Mounds Mall.
The group meets the second Monday of each month.
