ANDERSON — Highland High School Class of 1966 monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday.

Classmates will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Ruby Tuesday. Latecomers are welcome.

Local businesswoman Lions speaker

ANDERSON — Grace Lowe, the owner of Amazing Grace’s Cakes and More, will be the speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the Anderson Lions Club. Lowe recently opened her business and she will talk about its beginning and growth.

Lions meetings are held in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson St.

The meal begins at noon and is followed by the program.

St. Ambrose School plans charity auction

ANDERSON — St. Ambrose Catholic School is hosting its 15th annual charity auction, the Blue & Gold Gala, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Anderson Country Club.

Price is $30 per person and includes dinner and bid card. The funds raised by the auction are allocated to improving the technology and learning environment of the St. Ambrose Catholic School.

Driver safety program for seniors

ANDERSON — An AARP-sponsored driver safety program is scheduled from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9, at Community Hospital’s Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Ave.

The course is designed to give seniors the confidence and skills to stay safe behind the wheel. This course is recommended for all senior citizens and covers new traffic laws and updated driving information. The course fee is minimal.

Egg hunt Friday at nursing home

ANDERSON — The annual Easter Egg hunt for Community Northview will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The age groups will be 1 to 3; 4 to 6; 7 to 9; and 10 to 12.

There will be a large basket for each group and everyone else will receive a smaller basket of candy or a bag full of candy. To win the large basket, participants must get the most eggs in the age group.

Rain date will be Saturday at 10 a.m.

VFW serves Good Friday meal

ANDERSON — A Good Friday dinner will be served from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave.

Prepared by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the dinner will include salmon patties, french fries, macaroni and cheese, pickled eggs and beets, for a cost of $7.
