Community Briefs: April 15

Craft fair, bake sale today at church

ANDERSON — Central Christian Church, 923 Jackson St., will host a craft fair/bake sale from 4 to 7 p.m. today.

Handmade items will include greeting and note cards, paintings, therapeutic rice bags, and lotions. Bake sale items will include candied nuts, pies, caramels, apple butter and dill dip. Jewelry and books will also be available for purchase. Enter the church through the 10th Street doors and proceed downstairs to the Fellowship Hall for the sale.

MHHS Class of ‘68 to meet at Shouts

ANDERSON — The graduates of Madison Heights Class of 1968 will have a get-together at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Shouts at Cooper’s Sport Bowl.

Easter egg hunt, Zumba on Saturday

ANDERSON — Catapult Fitness Studio, 702 W. Eighth St., is hosting its third annual Easter egg hunt (for kids 10 and younger) and a family party this Saturday starting at 9 a.m., followed by a family Zumba class (all ages welcome).

The event is free and open to the public. This year the event included door prizes, a visit by the Easter Bunny, toys and money stuffed eggs, and Zumba and hip hop class. The Zumba and hip hop class starts at 9:30 a.m. immediately following the egg hunt.

Free skin cancer screenings offered

ANDERSON — Dr. David L. Martin will be holding free skin cancer screening exams in his office at the St. Vincent Holy Cross Medical Arts Building, 2101 Jackson St., Suite 201.

The screenings are offered as a public service for skin cancer awareness. These screenings will be held on the following days: May 5, 13, 14, 19 and 28. They will be free the entire month of May, but you will need to be seen on a screening date.

Eggstravaganza Saturday for kids

ANDERSON — New Life Apostolic Church is hosting its annual Easter Eggstravaganza from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the UAW hall, 29th Street and Madison Avenue. There will be an Easter egg hunt and games for children up to 12 years old.

Coin show planned at local Armory

ANDERSON — The Madison County Coin Club coin show will be Saturday at the National Guard Armory, 125 S. Scatterfield Road.

Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
