---- — Pet nail, microchip clinic planned

ANDERSON — The Madison County Humane Society, 2219 Crystal St., will conduct its monthly nail and microchip clinic and heartworm testing from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the shelter.

The cost is $5 for a nail trim, $10 for a heartworm test and $20 for microchipping. No appointment is necessary. Pets must be on a leash.

ACS rummage sale starts Friday

ANDERSON — Anderson Christian School will be conducting its semiannual rummage sale Friday and Saturday. The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

There will be a selection of clothes, shoes, household goods, decorations, electronics, games, sporting equipment and furniture, organizers said in a press release.

All proceeds benefit the Anderson Christian School general operations fund.

Lodge to host fundraiser dinner

ANDERSON — Peerless Lodge 32, 1608 Locust St., will host a Wayfarers Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Cost is $8 and includes fish and two side dishes.

Delivery will be available for five or more dinners by calling 642-8069.

CMC to host annual Summer Showcase

ANDERSON — CMC Performing Arts Academy will present its annual musical Summer Showcase at 6 p.m. Friday in the auditorium of the Anderson City Building, 120 E. Eighth St.

Children will showcase their talent by singing familiar songs and dancing to gospel, jazz and hip hop music.

Alex Class of ’51 reunion June 21

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria High School Class of 1951 will have its 62nd reunion at 1 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the residence of Vincent Beardsley.

The class is still seeking addresses for three classmates: Jack Wooten, Frances Doster Brown and John McElfresh.

Good’s begins concert series

ANDERSON — Good’s Candy Shop is offering summer fun this Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a free summer concert series featuring the Lapel Community Band.

The public is invited to attend. Bring a lawn chair. No coolers allowed.

HHS Class of ’58 sets annual picnic

ANDERSON — Highland High School Class of ‘58 will have its annual picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in celebration of its 55th anniversary.

The picnic is being held in the Community Room at the Lafayette Township Fire Station, 3235 N. 100W (North Madison Avenue). Table service will be furnished; alumni are asked to bring a dish and dessert.

Metropolitan College graduation Saturday

ANDERSON — The Metropolitan College of Theology (MCT) will conduct its commencement ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday at the City Hall auditorium, 120 E. Eighth St. Refreshments will be at 3 p.m.

This year MCT will have 41 students receiving degrees. The public is welcome. Dr. James E. Streeter is president.

Free Frankfurter Friday kicks off

ANDERSON — Each Friday through August from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Central Christian Church, 10th and Jackson streets, will host Free Frankfurter Friday.

Enjoy a lunch of a hot dog, chips and a drink. Although there is no cost, donations to continue this summer tradition are welcome. The dates are: June 14, 21 and 28; July 5,12, 19 and 26; and Aug. 2, 9, 16,23 and 30.
