---- — Ernie's Heart to host Christmas boutique

ANDERSON — Ernie's Heart Christmas Charity Boutique will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at its new location at 2103 Broadway.

St. Nicholas to visit Trinity Episcopal during WinterFest

ANDERSON — Luminaries will light the way to Trinity Episcopal Church, 11th and Brown-Delaware streets, during Winterfest on Friday, to guide children and their parents for a visit with Saint Nicholas. Pictures will be taken of the children during their visit with St. Nick and the pictures will be given to the parents at no cost. Pictures will be taken between 5 and 8 p.m. Each child will also receive a candy cane and a card with the story of the candy cane.

The event will also feature a privately owned display of Nativity sets (holy family, shepherds, etc.) for viewing by those attending, and free refreshments including scones, cookies, hot chocolate, tea and coffee will be served.

Soroptimists host Cookie Walk for Dec. 6

ANDERSON — The Soroptimist Cookie Walk will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Union Building, 11th and Meridian streets. The event is in conjunction with Winterfest.

Cookies are provided by Madison County "celebrities." Cookie decorating for children will take place from 4 to 6 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go to scholarships and programs benefiting women and girls.

Co-chairwomen for the event are Margie Adair and Debbie Lawrence-Long.

Children's Department to participate in Winterfest

ANDERSON — The Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St., will be participating in Anderson's Winterfest on Friday.

From 3:30 to 5 p.m., the Children's Department will offer holiday stickers and bookmarks plus hot chocolate while supplies last.

Author Ryan at book signing Friday

ANDERSON — On Friday, Moneyhun's Fine Gifts & Furnishings, 115 W. Eighth St., will host a book signing for author Violet L. Ryan and her latest release, "Homecoming," plus earlier publications, "Absentminded," "The Light Side of Dark," "The Ambassador's Daughter" and "Tennessee Moonlight."

She will sign books from 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Eagles Aerie to host holiday dinner

ANDERSON — The Anderson Eagles Aerie 174, 1315 Meridian St., will host a holiday dinner on Saturday.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. with games and raffles. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Meat will be furnished. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish.

The Flying Eagles Band will perform beginning at 7 p.m.

Cost is $5 for non-members or those not bringing a covered dish.

Holiday event benefits Beauty for Ashes

ALEXANDRIA — A holiday shopping extravaganza is planned from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Madison County 4-H Building in Alexandria. The money raised from the vendors applications and those who wish to donate will be given to Beauty for Ashes, a women and children's transitional home in Alexandria

A variety of vendors including clothing, candles, handbags, cosmetics, kitchen wares and jewelry will be available.
