Community Briefs: Nov. 10

MCHS to host annual craft show

ANDERSON — The Madison County Humane Society Christmas Craft & Hobby Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road, Anderson.

All proceeds will go to support care/shelter of homeless animals at the MCHS. Dog or cat food donations will be accepted at the door.

The kitchen will be open with food and beverages available for purchase both days. Door prizes will be given out.

Candlelight service scheduled at Southern Heights

ANDERSON — A memorial candlelight service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Southern Heights Christian Church, 5401 S. Madison Ave., Anderson.

This is a time for families to come together and light a candle in memory of a loved one. Special military candle will be lit. Open to the community.

K of C to host fish fry

ANDERSON — The Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St., will host the Haiti Medical & Dental Mission Fish Fry on Friday, Nov. 15 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Carry-outs are available.

All proceeds benefit the Haiti Medical Mission! Bring a non-perishable food item to help the local needy.

Leatherworking class upcoming at Mounds State Park

ANDERSON — Mounds State Park will offer two leatherworking classes on Nov. 16 at its visitors center.

Registered participants will craft nature-inspired leather bookmarks under the guidance of leatherworkers Doug and Nita Pickering.

The workshops are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and will last one to two hours.

Kids under 8 years old will need adult assistance. A $1 donation is requested.

Garden club announces monthly meeting

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at the he Conservation Building in Falls Park, 520 Falls Park Drive, Pendleton.

The program will be "Wreath Making Workshop" by Ellen Elliott, PGC member and Master Flower Show Judge. You may bring your own supplies and make yourself a holiday wreath.

The public is invited. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
