Church News: July 13

First Presbyterian holding VBS

ANDERSON — "Everywhere Fun Fair" is the theme for First Presbyterian’s Vacation Bible school this year. Beginning Monday, July 15, and running through Friday from 2 to 4:30 p.m., it’s a global celebration with the look and feel of a world’s fair. Children will make friends with neighbors around the world and discover that God’s love can be found everywhere, including their own neighborhoods.

This year the church is partnering with the Church Upon the Rock congregation. Children K-6 are welcome for Vacation Bible School at First Presbyterian, 230 W. Ninth St.

Tabor Church invites children to Kingdom Rock

DALEVILLE — A summer kids’ event called "Kingdom Rock" will be hosted by Tabor Church at the Daleville Elementary School 4-H Pavilion from July 23-26. At Kingdom Rock, kids participate in Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into treats, experience Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to stand strong, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long.

Each day concludes with Fanfare Finale — a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned. Kids at Kingdom Rock will join a missions effort, raising funds for Mahalia Pa Maisha, a ministry in Kenya, Africa. Kingdom Rock is for kids age 4 through 11 and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. each day.
