Container Retirees to meet at Frisch’s

ANDERSON — Container Retirees will meet for lunch at Frisch’s, 500 Broadway, at 11:30 a.m. today.

LHS Class of ‘69 to host 45-year reunion

LAPEL — The Lapel Class of 1969 will have its 45-year reunion on July 13 at the Lapel Eagles from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Bible camp set at downtown church

ANDERSON — First Presbyterian VBS STAY-CATION will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church at 230 W. Ninth St.

All children grades kindergarten through fifth grade are invited for a day of God’s Backyard Bible Camp VBS Staycation.

Square dancers to dance in Muncie

MUNCIE — A Hawaiian luau themed dance will be held by the Wreck Tangled Squares Club on Saturday at the Muncie Delaware County Senior Center, 2517 W. Eighth St., Muncie.

Caller will be Keith Dishman and the cuer is Judy Mouton. There will be a Plus workshop from 7 to 7:30 p.m. There will be square dancing and round dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

The group dances the fourth Saturday of each month.

High School to host alumni reunion

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown High School alumni are having their annual covered dish dinner on Sunday, July 27, at Shenandoah High School, U.S. 36 and Raider Road.

Doors open at noon with dinner at 1 p.m.

  • FEA - HB0728 - Fresh Orientation - SH Elwood freshmen learn the ways of high school through mentoring program About half the 112 incoming freshmen at Elwood Jr./Sr. High School got a jump on their friends recently by attending a freshman orientation session. Joan Mercer, an English teacher who helped organize the the orientation, said the mentor program, which has been in place for several years, has been effective in new students make the high school transition.
