ANDERSON — When Morgan Long, 9, Jamilynn Sarvis, 10, Nick Sarvis, 11, Alexa Sarvis, 5, and Emily Sarvis, 7, heard that Ernie's Heart Pet Food pantry was so low on food that it couldn't open, they took action. They came up with the idea of having a lemonade stand with all proceeds going to the pantry.
Their grandmother, Shannon Clark, also pledged to give 10 percent of her month's wages to help. When Jan Smith, founder of Ernie's Heart heard about them, she went for a visit. She gave each child a T-shirt and in return the youngsters did a cheer that they had been working on for hours. They had lemonade, cookies and a cake for Ernie's Heart. Their grand total was $30 and 160 pounds of dog food.
