---- — Pet Food Pantry in need of donors

ANDERSON — The next distribution date for Ernie’s Heart Pet Food Pantry will be Saturday, July 20.

Donations are desperately needed, organizers said. Residents wishing to help may send donations to Ernie’s Heart Pet Food Pantry, 610 S. Scatterfield Road, Anderson, IN 46012.

To hold an Ernie’s Angels Rock food collection before the distribution date, ask your friends, co-workers, church members, etc. to bring a bag of food to your next meeting, party or get-together. Then call 425-5407 to arrange pickup prior to Thursday.

Newspaper hosts blood drive today

ANDERSON — The Herald Bulletin, 1133 Jackson St., will host a community blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. today.

The Bloodmobile will be parked in the newspaper’s lower parking lot behind the building.

11th annual golf tournament set for Aug. 2

ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson’s Emergency Department will host its 11th annual golf tournament on Friday, Aug. 2, at The Edge.

The Florida-style scramble will begin with the Lifeline helicopter liftoff at 1 p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $65 per person or $260 per team, which includes green fees, cart, lunch and beverages.

Proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Sexual Assault Treatment Center, Kids Plus and the Animal Protection League. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first- and second-place teams, longest drive and closest to the pin. A hole-in-one contest for $10,000 is sponsored by Tim Thompson.

CMF to host Saturday breakfast

MARKLEVILLE — The Christian Men’s Fellowship (C.M.F.) East Christian Church, 124 E. Main St., will have its monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the downstairs church fellowship hall.

The menu includes sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee, with a free will offering accepted.

The church is handicap accessible.

Auxiliary to host handbag sale

ANDERSON — The Community Hospital Anderson Auxiliary will host a handbag and accessories sale with Specialty Distributors Inc. on Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the lower-level conference room of the hospital.

The sale will feature hundreds of trendy handbags, wallets, necklace sets, luggage and more. The sale is open to the public. Proceeds benefit the charitable sponsorships of the Auxiliary.

Stringer to be speaker at Exchange Club

ANDERSON — Maleah Stringer of the Animal Protection League will be the guest speaker at the Anderson Noon Exchange Club luncheon meeting today from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Edge Golf & Dining for a buffet luncheon at $10 per person.

Stringer is the executive director of the APL. She will share the importance of finding homes for the hundreds of animals dropped off at the center and the need to be proactive in responsible care and ownership of pets.

The Anderson Noon Exchange Club is part of the National Exchange Club and promotes Americanism, youth, community, and the prevention of child abuse. Anyone interested in attending the luncheon or learning more about Exchange Club is invited to call 617-5912.
