Eastern Star installs officers

ANDERSON — Anderson Chapter 154 of the Order of the Eastern Star will install its new officers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The new officers will be: Kay Purdy, Worthy Matron; John Purdy, Worthy Patron; Brenda Parker, Associate Matron; Don Taylor, Associate Patron; Elizabeth Porter, Secretary; Becky Cleveland, Treasurer; Ardella West, Conductress; Janise Taylor, Associate Conductress; Helga Modlin, Chaplain; Joy Bolton, Marshal; Bob Claypool, Organist; Evelyn Miller, Adah; Judy Dick, Ruth; Donna Townsend, Esther; Judy Witt, Martha; Alice Folsom, Electra; Mary Claypool, Warder; Lauralee Overlin, Sentinel; Joyce McNeil, Prompter; Jamie Smith, Bible Escort; Donna Townsend, Soloist; Nancy Wilson, Lights.

Installing officers are Lois Wagoner, Past Grand Matron, Installing Officer; Wilma Maupin, Past Matron, Installing Marshal; Marilyn Dobrik, Past Matron, Installing Chaplain; and Bruce Thompson, Past Grand Organist, Installing Organist.

A reception will follow.

Shadyside Celebration set

ANDERSON — The City of Anderson and Community Hospital will present “The Shadyside Celebration” on Sunday from 1 to 11 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by DJ K9 and DJ Sinseer from 1 to 3 and 6 to 7 p.m.; Living Proof from 3 to 6 p.m. and Sizzlin’ Greg Bacon from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The Lapel Community Band will perform from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin around dusk (10 p.m.).
