Yorktown church hosts Dan's Fish Fry

YORKTOWN — A Dan's all-you-can-eat fish and chicken fry will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Yorktown Church of the Nazarene, 9001 W. Arch St.

The dinner will include a choice of two sides (baked beans, cole slaw, green beans or potato salad).

Advance tickets are on sale. Adults 13 and older, $9; children 6-12, $6; 5 and under, free. Tickets at door will increase by $1 per ticket.

Proceeds will be used for missions trips to Belize in June.

Farmers Market at Minnetrista opens May 3

MUNCIE — Beyond the flowers of May, the spring season takes Farmers Market at Minnetrista outdoors on May 3. The outdoors Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, during May through October.

Starting in June, Farmers Market extends to Wednesdays and Saturdays. From June through September, join friends and families on Wednesdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and explore the market-fresh finds and homemade treats.

Relay for Life team hosting fundraiser

MARKLEVILLE — Psi Phi Chapter of Kappa Delta Phi's Relay for Life team will be hosting a team fundraiser at the Markleville Community Park just west of Markleville during the Indiana 38 Rummage Sale event on May 2 and 3 from 8 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m.

There will be rummage sale items, hanging flower baskets and a food booth both days.

Alex garden club sets meeting

ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria's SmallTown Garden Club will meet on Monday, May 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 115 W. Broadway St.

Suzy Vannatter will present the program, "Preserving Your Garden for Snowier Times" (this is not a canning program). Visitors are welcome.

AHS class of '74 plans reunion

ANDERSON — The 40th reunion of the Anderson High School Class of 1974 is set for July. The planning committee is currently working on notifying and contacting as many classmates as possible. Graduates of 1974 are asked to visit the group’s Facebook page. Go to and search for Anderson High School Indians Class of 1974 to join and get event details.
