Sons of F.U.N.K. headline concert

ANDERSON — Tickets for Wednesday’s concert starring Sons of F.U.N.K. are on sale at Key Bank branches at 5457 S. Scatterfield Road and 3228 Nichol Ave. The concert will be at 8 p.m. at the UAW Hall, 2840 S. Madison Ave.

Sons of F.U.N.K. is led by Rico Lewis, who formerly played drums with Parliament/Funkadelic. Joining his band that night will be Teddy Patterson, James Dickerson, Novi, Darnell Lark, DJ Raymond Watson and other local talent.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. The concert is to benefit Funk for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Club asks for coat donations Saturday

ANDERSON — The Circle of Brothas’ Motorcycle Club will host a Sharing Is Caring coat drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the American Rental facility, 615 N. Scatterfield Road.

The group will accept clean, old, new and gently-used coats for all ages and sizes. Coffee and donuts will be provided by American Rental.

Square dance set for Sunday at Rangeline

ANDERSON — Square dancers are invited to a dance on Sunday at Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

The caller is Gary Hutton and the cuer is Bonnie Lawrence. Pre-rounds are at 6 p.m. and square dancing is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. There will be a half pot, door prizes and a food table with Thanksgiving dinner favorites.

Senior Café hosted at Pendleton library

PENDLETON — Life­Stream services and the Pendleton Community Public Library host the Pendleton Senior Café every Tuesday and Wednesday at noon at the Pendleton Library, 595 E. Water St.

Seniors ages 60 and over are welcome to eat a hot, healthy meal for a suggested donation of $3.50. After each meal, enjoy a game of bingo. You do not have to be a Pendleton resident to attend.

Holiday Extravaganza planned for Saturday

ANDERSON — The Anderson Firefighters Auxiliary will host a Holiday Extravaganza Mart from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the FOFF Lodge behind Station 8 on West 53rd Street to kick off holiday shopping and decorating.

Participants include the Auxiliary, Amy’s Handmade Delights, Arbonne, Avon, Beneath His Wings, Cutesie Tutesie Girly Garb, Longaberger, Pampered Chef, Premier Designs, Psi Iota Xi, Scentsy, Thirtyone, Tupperware, Vi Salus Shape Shakes and Woofer’s Biscuit Bakery. Food by Brenda’s Catering will be available to purchase.

Fried chicken on K of C menu Sunday

ANDERSON — The Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St., will have a fried chicken dinner from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Adults’ cost is $9 (all white) and $8 (regular). Child cost is $4. The meal includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, two vegetables and a salad. Carryout is welcome.
