ANDERSON, Ind. — There’s just no excuse for anyone to be bored this summer. Mounds State Park makes a great destination any old day of the week, just to enjoy the delights of nature and maybe learn a little, too.

Hiking, exploring, picnicking, camping, swimming and more are all on tap at the park. Even better, they have a schedule full to the brim of cool activities.

Especially of interest for kids are two camps hosted this month by the park’s interpretive services along with Friends of Mounds State Park.

“Campers can expect fun, hands-on activities centered around exploration, understanding and stewardship of Mounds State Park,” interpretive naturalist Jessica Rosier said.

Naturalist Day Camp runs this week from July 9-12. It’s for kids ages 8-10, and costs $35. Wilderness Day Camp runs July 23-26 for kids ages 11-13, and costs $45. Get more information and sign campers up in advance by stopping in at the Visitor Center, or by calling 642-6627.
