For The Herald Bulletin
PENDLETON, Ind. —
Once again this year there will be no shortage of chili and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy at the Friends of the Pendleton Library’s fifth annual Chili Cook-Off.
Three “expert” judges in matters of taste including Kurt Kahl, Dave Ellison and Bill Hutton will award prizes and bragging rights to contestants who conjure up the best recipes.
The Herald Bulletin of Anderson has partnered with the Friends of the Library for this event, which will again feature a silent auction, bake sale, trivia challenge and the Mr. Hot Stuff & Ms. Chili Pepper contest.
“I am looking forward to the library’s 2012 Chili Cook-off,” said Bonnie Guy, President of the Friends of the Library. “Last year it was a lot of fun to see and taste the different chili creations. It will be another great affair of Madison County’s community fellowship, and I plan to enjoy several tastes of the delicious all-you-can-eat cuisine.”
The competition is open to organizations and individuals. Contestants do not have to be Pendleton residents to enter or to attend the cook-off. The library is located at 595 East Water Street in Pendleton. The cook-off will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the library’s community room on Sunday, March 4.
Tickets are $5 per person.
