Rummage sale set at Park Place

ANDERSON — The 2014 Uganda Mission Team will be holding its annual rummage sale Saturday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Park Place Church of God. The Mission Team will be traveling to Uganda the first two weeks of June. All proceeds will go to help fund this trip.

Liberty Family hosting Prayer Walk

ANDERSON — A Liberty Family Prayer Walk will take place on both campuses of Liberty Christian School on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Parents, students, faculty and community members will meet in the parking lots to receive a bookmark with prayer requests before being asked to pray around the perimeter of the buildings. They will also be invited to walk the halls of the schools and pray at the doorways to classrooms, which will have the teachers' names and prayer requests on them. Benedictions in the gymnasiums will close the event.

Joan Mercer, an English teacher who helped organize the the orientation, said the mentor program, which has been in place for several years, has been effective in new students make the high school transition.
