---- — 'Celebrate Recovery' coming to Madison Park Church

ANDERSON — "Celebrate Recover" is coming to Madison Park Church of God Friday, Sept. 13, from 7 to 10 p.m.

"Celebrate Recovery" is based on eight principles from the teaching of Jesus to help bring real life-changes, provide healing from hurts accumulated over a lifetime and freedom from destructive behaviors.

The church is located at the corner of Columbus Avenue and East 67th Street in Anderson.

Square dance lessons start Sept. 10

ANDERSON — Square dance lessons begin Tuesday, Sept. 10 and will continue each Tuesday into December at the Rangeline Community Center, 1405 N. Rangeline Road.

The first two lessons are free and subsequent lessons are $5 per person. Children under the age of 17 years may attend for free.

Darrin Henry is the instructor for the classes. Singles and couples are invited and experienced partners will be provided for all students. There will be an open house with a free chili dinner beginning at 6 p.m. Lessons are from 7 to 9 p.m. Everyone 9 years and older is welcome as a student. For more information, call 610-2377.

NAMI to present 'Peer to Peer'

ANDERSON — The National Alliance on Mental Illness will host "Peer to Peer: An Educational Program on Recovery, Learning to Live Well" on Saturdays, Sept. 7 through Nov. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1512 N. Madison Ave., Anderson.

This 10-week class is for people with mental illnesses and is taught by trained people who have achieved a level of recovery. Registration is required by calling Karen Barnard at (606) 362-5744 or Sharame Vodraska at 669-3698.

Perkinsville Church to host 60th annual fish fry

PERKINSVILLE — Perkinsville Community Church will celebrate its 60th annual fish fry on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. each day.

The Fish Fry will take place at the Frankton-Lapel Community School Headquarters, 7916 W. 300 N., Anderson.

Ticket price for adults are $10, kids $5, and children 5 and under are free.

The menu consists of Dan’s hand-breaded fish, tenderloin, fried potatoes, baked beans, coleslaw, dessert, iced tea and coffee.

Fish Fry to benefit Lapel Fire Department

LAPEL — A Dan's Fish Fry will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lapel Fire Station.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children.

All proceeds raised will go toward the fire station.

Church to have two-day rummage sale

ANDERSON — Elm Grove Christian Church will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14.

The church is located at 2940 N. 300W, Anderson.
