---- — CHA to host shoe sale

ANDERSON — Community Hospital Anderson’s Auxiliary will host an Outside the Box shoe sale Monday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospital’s lower level conference rooms.

The sale is open to the public and will feature all types of name brand shoes and boots.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the charitable sponsorships of the Auxiliary.

Class of 1954 to meet for lunch

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1954 will get together for lunch at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26.

Discussion will be on the 60-year class reunion.

Hankins-Keesling reunion Sept. 18

SULPHUR SPRINGS — The Hankins-Keesling reunion will be at noon Wednesday at the Iron Kettle Restaurant in Sulphur Springs.

Legion to serve up steaks and fish

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown American Legion Post 216, 450 N. 10th St., will serve grilled New York strip steaks Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m.

They will also have their normal Friday night special, broasted fish.

HHS class of '66 meets Tuesday

PENDLETON — The Highland High School Class of 1966 will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sahm's, 1251 Huntzinger Blvd., Pendleton.

Scholarship luncheon Sept. 21

ANDERSON — Peerless Lodge 32 will hold its 2013 Scholarship Luncheon at noon Saturday, Sept. 21 at Anderson Zion Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2008 Rev. J.T. Menifee St. This year's theme is "Scholarship: Your Passport to Success" and the speaker will be Rev. William O'Neal, pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Scholarships will be awarded and community trailblazers will be honored. Tickets are $20 each for adults and $15 each for middle, high school and college students.

Connections Pet Fest in Pendleton

PENDLETON — Pets & Vets will present "Connections Pet Fest" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 414 Pendleton Ave., Pendleton.

The event will take place on the grounds of Pets & Vets as they celebrate all of the connections we share with our pets. Learn about local rescue and service groups. Pet Readings will be conducted by Mary Marshall.

There will be door prizes, fun and educational demonstrations, homemade treats and handmade bandannas and Will-Yums BBQ Concessions.

Pioneer Fair Sept. 21-22 in Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE — The Blue River Valley Pioneer Fair will be held Sept. 21-22 at the Shelby County Fairgrounds.

Experience a living history village dated 1822-1865 with costumed participants demonstrating the skills and crafts needed to survive the early settlement of Shelby County.

The fair will offer food, fun, a cake walk, a magic show, music, quilting, spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, pottery throwing, petting zoo, a general store, and a silent auction. The Blue River Longrifles, the Territorial Mounted Rangers, and the 18th Indiana Light Artillery will be in the camp all weekend. Admission is $3 per person, with children ages 6 and under admitted free.
