Church News: Sept. 14

Full Gospel moves to Anderson

ANDERSON — Full Gospel Church, formerly known as The Old Country Full Gospel Church of Pendleton, has moved to 5105 Columbus Ave. (the former site of Petticoat Junction).

Service time is 10:30 a.m. Sunday and Rick Craig is pastor of the church.

Wilburn & Wilburn in concert Sept. 22

MATTHEWS — Epworth United Methodist Church, 105 W. Eighth St., Matthews, will have father and son duo Wilburn & Wilburn in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 . Doors will open at 5:30.

There will be no admission charge; a love offering will be taken. After the concert, there will be a meet-and-greet time in the Fellowship Hall with refreshments served.

Church reunion Sept. 21

ANDERSON — The first-ever Family Reunion of West 14th Street Church of Christ will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at UAW 1963, 2840 S. Madison Ave.

Christ Temple hosts convention

ANDERSON — Christ Temple Church, 1610 W. 22nd St., will host its 72nd annual Church Convention Sept. 19, 20 and 22.

Speakers will be as follows:

Thursday, District Elder Earl Isom, Ebenezer, Anderson, at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Pastor Robert Morrell, Living Water Apostolic Church, Marion at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday morning, Elder Michael Boards, Christ Temple, Anderson, at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday evening, Elder Paul Otis, Refuge Temple, Indianapolis at 4:30 p.m.

Wilson preaches at AU Chapel

ANDERSON — Nathan Wilson, an online student, will preach at the Anderson University School of Theology Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Micah Current will lead worship and Phil and Phyllis Kinley will serve as our Chaplains in Residence.

Park Place offers Coffee House Worship

ANDERSON — Sunday, September 15, Park Place Church of God, 501 College Dr., offers a relaxed community worship experience from 6 to 7:15 p.m. at the Park Place Community Center, Room 13, 802 E. 5th St.

Marshall Lawrence, founder and director of Silent Blessings, a video ministry to deaf children, will share his story.

  • FEA - HB0413 - volunteer Brian Morson - JC 39 A helping hand Brian Morson’s time as a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital started as a patient when he had a hip injury. After he made a comment that hospitals in London have greeters, the director of Volunteer Services at the time told him he had the perfect voice and accent to do it at St. Vincent. Twelve years later, he’s volunteered more than 4,500 hours.
