ANDERSON, Ind. — A compilation of community news, as published in the Tuesday edition of The Herald Bulletin.

Lenten breakfast series continues

ANDERSON — The 2013 Anderson Area Christian Men’s Lenten Breakfast Series continues Saturday at St. Mary’s RCC, 1115 Pearl St., at 8 a.m. with a hot breakfast followed by a musical presentation by Garri George Jr. and Kathryn Carpenter.

Speaker will be professor of art Jason Knapp of Anderson University.

All men are invited to attend. Freewill donations will be accepted.

The program last 90 minutes. Bring a nonperishable food item for Operation Love.



Easter Bunny headed to Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA — A breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Alexandria Community Center, 315 S. Harrison St.

Tickets are $3 for children and $5 for adults and may be purchased at the door.

Pictures will be taken for an additional fee.

Gambling support meetings available

ANDERSON — Madison County has four active Gamblers Anonymous Groups conducting weekly meetings.

Open meetings (you may bring a support person with you) are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Greater Light Church, 317 Marine Drive; call Ruby at 623-3920. Meetings are held Wednesdays at 6 p.m. at Operation Love, 630 E. 21st St., call Tom at 610-4088; and Saturdays at 11 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church, 4011 W. 200S, call Tom at 610-4088.

A closed meeting (only for those suffering with addiction) is every Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Redbud Room at the Anderson Public Library, 111 E. 12th St.; call Jane at 641-1931.



Borgman to appear at Pendleton Library

PENDLETON —  Author, columnist and humorist Lori Borgman will visit the Pendleton Community Public Library, 595 E. Water St., at 10 a.m. Saturday. She will speak about “How We Can (House) Work It Out.”

“I’m not one of those wives who want my husband doing 50 percent of the housework,” said Borgman.   “You’ve not suffered until you’ve watched the man iron a shirt. I’m not saying he’s slow, but grass can grow faster.”

Church hosting Friday chili supper

ANDERSON — Memorial Circle Wesleyan Church, corner of West 25th Street and Park Road, will host a chili supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Cost is $6 for chili, dessert and drink for adults and children. Children under age 5 eat free.

The event is sponsored by “Women Who Care.”
