Early donations for Empty Stocking Fund total $485

ANDERSON, Ind. — Ten donations totaling $485 were received through last weekend for The Herald Bulletin's Empty Stocking Fund, which kicked off Nov. 17:

— $30, Maxine Ewing, in memory of loved ones.

— $5, Cheryl A. See, in memory of Cathy Lynn Higgins.

— $50, anonymous

— $50, Jane Ann Caldwell

— $100, Barbara J. Miles

— $50, anonymous, in memory of Kay Sweitzer

— $50, anonymous, in memory of Rosemary B. Davis

— $50, anonymous, in memory of Kenneth Bondurant

— $50, anonymous, in memory of Roger Bondurant

— $50, anonymous, in memory of Bonita Bondurant

Empty Stocking Fund donations go to the Salvation Army to provide families in Madison County with living essentials throughout the year.

To donate to the fund, send or bring cash or check (made out to the Salvation Army) to Empty Stocking Fund, The Herald Bulletin, 1133 Jackson St., Anderson, IN 46016. Office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

New donations to the fund will be published periodically until Christmas Day. For more information on the Empty Stocking Fund, call The Herald Bulletin at 622-1212. For information on the Salvation Army's annual kettle drive, call 644-2538.

  • FEA - HB0413 - volunteer Brian Morson - JC 39 A helping hand Brian Morson’s time as a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital started as a patient when he had a hip injury. After he made a comment that hospitals in London have greeters, the director of Volunteer Services at the time told him he had the perfect voice and accent to do it at St. Vincent. Twelve years later, he’s volunteered more than 4,500 hours.
