Josh Turner returns to Hoosier Park

By Tammy Everitt The Herald Bulletin

ANDERSON, Ind. — Country artist Josh Turner will return to Hoosier Park as the first country act in the newly remodeled Terrace Showroom. The sold-out show gets underway at 8 p.m. Friday.

His hits include “Would You Go With Me,” “Your Man,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Firecracker,” “Me and God” and “Long Black Train.”

Turner, who was part of the HP's Coors Light Summer Concert Series back in August 2011, has been busy since his last trip to Anderson.

His fifth album, "Punching Bag" was released on MCA Nashville as well as "Live Across America," 12 songs recorded in concert in different cities and distributed through Cracker Barrel Restaurants.

“When the idea for ‘Punching Bag’ came along, it really hit me,” Josh said on his website, pun intended. “It became the central idea for this record.”

After a particularly bad day, Turner exclaimed to his wife, Jennifer, he felt like it was him against the world.

" ‘You know, I just feel like a punching bag, like life is beating me up.' I wanted to express the idea that life is tough,” he said. “You get a lot punches thrown at you and a lot of times you’re not in control. But you have to take those punches and keep moving forward."
