---- — K of C to host 4-day rummage sale

ANDERSON — The Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St., is hosting its annual rummage sale from Thursday, Aug. 8, to Sunday, Aug. 11.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters to host car truck show

EDGEWOOD — Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department will host its third annual Car and Truck Show on Sunday at The Edge, 519 Golf Club Road.

Entry fee is $10 per vehicle. First 75 entries will receive a dash plaque.

Registration will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Awards ceremony will be at 5 p.m. with 30 trophies for cars and 10 for trucks.

There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and a disc jockey. Refreshments will be available (hamburgers, hot dogs, tenderloins, coffee and soft drinks). No alcoholic beverages.

The fundraiser is presented by The Three Amigos to benefit the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department.

Special Bowlers League to start

ANDERSON — Cooper’s Sport Bowl will host the Madison County Special Bowlers League beginning Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m.

All participants will receive a food banquet and awards at the end of the program. Call Merry Melton at 620-7564 or call Cooper’s Sport Bowl 642-4961 ext. 0 to register.

AMHS to present art show Saturday

ALEXANDRIA — The Alexandria Monroe Historical Society will present an art show for area artists from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum at 313 N. Harrison St.

Several pieces of art from local artists will be displayed throughout the museum. Several pieces will be for sale. If you are an artist and would like to display your pieces, call Larry Maple, museum president, at 724-3508.

Youth group to host pizza dinner

LAPEL — Daybreak Community Church’s Youth Group will host a pizza dinner at noon Sunday at the church.

The menu will include pizza, breadsticks and a salad. They will also be serving baked spaghetti and a dessert.

A freewill offering will be taken. All proceeds will go to the youth group.

Final summer camp session set

ANDERSON — The Mini Summer Camp held at the Impact Center will hold its final session on Wednesday. This class will be hosted by Catapult Fitness and taught by instructor Alexa Morris.

Youth ages 10-18 are invited to attend this free class from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Impact Center, 630 Nichol Ave.
