ANDERSON, Ind. — Rummage, bazaar set for Saturday

ANDERSON — Madison Park Church of God, 6607 Providence Drive, will host a rummage sale, auction and bazaar from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Plants, furniture, antiques, outdoor furniture, clothing and other rummage items will be offered for sale.



Garden Club holds sidewalk sale

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Garden Club will hold its spring sidewalk sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the corner of State Street and Pendleton Avenue.



RV place collecting supplies for animals

NEW CASTLE —  Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales in New Castle is embracing the month of May to “Make a Difference.”

They have partnered with the Animal Protection League to collect supplies all month long as well as having an adoption event on Saturday.

They are collecting food and clothing for the Westminster Community Center and encourage everyone to drop off any new or gently used clothing or nonperishable food items.  

Markleville to host 50-year reunion

ANDERSON — The 1963 graduating class of Markleville High School will meet at Shouts Pub, 1920 E. 53rd St., Anderson, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

The meal will be served at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., all former Markleville graduates are invited to join the event.



Bush memorial ride set for Saturday

MARKLEVILLE — The Jordan Bush Memorial Ride is planned from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Registration begins a 10:30 a.m. at North Christian Church, 32 N. State St. There is a $20 registration fee per bike and $10 fee for passenger. First bike out at noon and $50 gift cards given away at each stop.

All proceeds benefit the Markleville Community Stay @ Home Work Camp. A waiver must be signed by each participant. Preregistration at jbush@northchristianchurch.org or call the church at 533-4463.

Following the ride, a chicken noodles dinner will be served for $8.



K of C serving Mother’s Day brunch

ANDERSON — Mother’s Day Brunch will be served from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Knights of Columbus, 1225 Main St.

Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children and $30 for a family of five or more.

The menu will include homemade quiches, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, pancakes, fruit, assorted juices, coffee and milk. For more information call 642-7946.



Farmers market opens Saturday

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Farmers Market will open for the season this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Falls Park, next to the Community Building.

Throughout the summer session, which runs through Oct. 12, local products will be offered including fresh produce, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, baked goods, local meats, farm eggs, granola, honey and much more.

For an application call Jeanette at 208-5791. The market also offers nonprofit organizations free booth space by appointment only.

This Saturday, representatives from Pendleton-based “Friends for Paws” will be available to microchip dogs or cats for $20. There will be some dogs available for adoption.
