---- — ‘Home Run’ to be shown Aug. 30

ANDERSON — There will be a free showing of the film “Home Run” at Madison Park Church of God, 6607 Providence Drive, (corner of 67th Street and Columbus Avenue), on Friday, Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy free soft drinks and popcorn with the movie.

NAMI to present 12-week class

ANDERSON — “Family to Family; From Despair and Isolation to Hope and Empowerment,” this 12-week class presented by the National Alliance on Mental Illness runs Sept. 5 through Nov. 21 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1512 N. Madison Ave.

This 12-week class is for parents, siblings, spouses, adult children, friends and families of choice of persons with a serious psychiatric illness, such as major depression, bipolar disorder and sczhizophrenia.

There is no charge. Early registration is recommended.

Fish fry to benefit Salvation Army

PENDLETON — A Dan’s Fish Fry will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Rawlins House & Fall Creek Retirement Village, 300 J.H. Walker Drive, Pendleton.

Adult tickets, $9; and children 6-12, $5. Fish and tenderloins will be served.

Each ticket purchased will have a raffle entry for many prizes. Bring a non-perishable canned good and receive an extra raffle entry.

All proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army.

CHA Auxiliary to host sale

ANDERSON — The Community Hospital Anderson Auxiliary will host a Masquerade Jewelry Sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria dining room, located on the hospital’s lower level.

The sale is open to the public and will feature all types of jewelry and accessories for $5. Proceeds from the sale benefit the charitable sponsorships of the auxiliary.

HP to host Muncie Community Night

ANDERSON — Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, 4500 Dan Patch Circle, Anderson, will present Muncie Community Night at the Park tonight at 5 p.m.

A charity slot tournament will be held to benefit the Fallen Heroes Memorial Bridge which is supported by The Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club.

Registration for the tournament begins at 5 p.m. at trackside Club Centaur. The tournament will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mounds Baptist rummage Saturday

ANDERSON -- There will be a tailgate rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mounds Baptist Church, 3001 Mounds Road.

Proceeds to support missions and outreach ministries.

Cookbooks will be at Farmer’s Market

MARKLEVILLE — The Markleville 100 year cookbooks have arrived. Jan Fox will have them at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
