FHS to hold 40-year class reunion

ANDERSON — The Frankton High School Class of 1973 will hold its 40th class reunion this year. The event will be Saturday, Sept. 7 at Rigo's (Grandview) in Anderson, starting at 6 p.m.

Cost is $30 per person. Invitations have been sent out but a few classmates are still missing. If you have not received an invitation and would like to attend, contact Dawn Bauer Perry at 623-2284 or Marie Hook Symmes at 749-1676; or simply mail a note with your check to "Frankton Class of 1973," 3324 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Anderson, IN 46013.

Area classes of '59 to meet

ANDERSON — On Sept. 3, area 1959 high school classmates and their guests are invited to lunch at Rigo's of Grandview Golf Course from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month.

Anderson Fiesta set for Sept. 21

ANDERSON — The City of Anderson Parks & Recreation Department will host the free Anderson Fiesta 2013 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in downtown Anderson at the Town Center Park.

A variety of bands will provide entertainment and there will be traditional folk ballet dancers.

A top tamale cook-off contest will also take place.

The Epic Initiatives 5K Run will take place with registration at 10 a.m.

Coffee and Rousseau Workshop

MUNCIE — The Coffee and Rousseau Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday at Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

Be guided step by step to create Rousseau’s “Woman Walking in an Exotic Forest.” The cost of the workshop is $16 and includes supplies.

Lapel Eagles ride to benefit local boys

LAPEL — The Lapel Eagles will host a benefit motorcycle ride for Van Green and Johnathon Binnion on Sept. 7. Both boys suffer from a form of brain cancer.

Sign-up for the ride begins at 8 a.m. at the Lapel Eagles with kickstands up at 11 a.m. Cost is $15 for single rider and $10 for a passenger.

Family events start at noon with a bounce house, face painting, games, live music, vendors, 50/50, door prizes, a hog roast and corn hole tournament.

A raffle for Larry Bird's autographed 1999 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic donated by Bird will be held. Cost is $20 per ticket.

A Golf Cart Poker Run starts at 2 p.m. Sign-up begins at 1 p.m. Donations only will be taken.
