Church News: Sept. 7

Fall revival Sept. 9 - 13

ANDERSON — Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1225 Madison Ave., will have its fall revival on Sept. 9-13.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Henry T. Goodwin, pastor of Jeamiha Baptist Church from East St. Louis, Ill.

Services begin nightly at 7 p.m. The church's pastor is the Rev. Ernest R. Prince.

Woman's Day Sept. 15

ANDERSON — Greater Grace Temple Apostolic Church, 914 S. Madison Ave., will celebrate Woman's Day 2013, Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m.

The theme is "Searching for a Virtuous Woman" Proverbs 13:10.

Guest church will be Living Water Apostolic Church of Marion with speaker Pastor Dr. Kandy Morell and congregation.

New Bible study class begins

DALEVILLE — Daleville Christian Church, 14220 W. Daleville Road, will begin a new weekly Bible Study on the Book of Luke on Tuesday. The study will meet every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary with each class about an hour long.

Music Ministry observes Annual Day

ANDERSON — Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church Music Ministry will observe Annual Day Sunday. This year's theme is "Let Me Be Spirtual," Galatians 5: 22-26.

Guest speaker for the 11 a.m. speaker will be Rev. Michelle P. McCoy an associate at Perfecting Church, Detroit, Mich.

Special guests at the 4 p.m. service will be Men of Zion, Anderson Zion Baptist Church, Rev. Marcus Cooley and Rhema Word Ministry Choir, Excell Academy and Chosen Dance Ministry.

Rev. Floyd Edwards is host pastor.

Trinity returns to two services Sunday

ANDERSON — Beginning Sunday, Trinity Episcopal Church, 1030 Brown-Delaware St., will return to two services on Sundays.

The schedule will be 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite; 9:10 a.m. Adult Forum and 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite II

Holy Eucharist Rite II is also celebrated on Wednesdays at noon. Following the Wednesday worship service, the church provides a free lunch, which is available to everyone in the community.

  • FEA - HB0728 - Fresh Orientation - SH Elwood freshmen learn the ways of high school through mentoring program About half the 112 incoming freshmen at Elwood Jr./Sr. High School got a jump on their friends recently by attending a freshman orientation session. Joan Mercer, an English teacher who helped organize the the orientation, said the mentor program, which has been in place for several years, has been effective in new students make the high school transition.
