Upcoming produce giveways in Madison County

ANDERSON — Produce giveaways sponsored by the Madison County Community Health Center will take place this week.

The first is planned for Tuesday, from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m., at 1547 Ohio Ave., Anderson, and from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1518 Main St., Elwood.

A giveaway is also planned for Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon at 315 S. Harrison St., Alexandria.

Basket/bingo fundraiser Wednesday

ALEXANDRIA — The Christian Congregation Church Alexandria Chapter Delta Theta Tau will host Longaberger Basket and Vera Bradley Bingo on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Alexandria-Monroe High School Cafeteria.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $12.

Proceeds will benefit the Alexandria Community Center.

    A small group of amputees gathered for the Second Annual Show Your Mettle Day at Frazier’s Dairy Maid on Friday. The event, which offered free ice cream to amputees thanks to Prevail Prosthetics and Orthotics, served as a meet and greet to help support limb loss awareness in the community.
