---- — Presentation on ghosts of Madison County

PENDLETON — It’s October, the perfect month for all things ghostly. The Pendleton Community Public Library invites the public to attend the “Ghosts of Madison County” presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday. Authors, professional storytellers and paranormal researchers Nicole and Michael Kobrowski will present the Madison County haunts, complete with photographs and eyewitness accounts, gleaned from their research.

The Kobrowskis’ Historic Indiana Ghost Walks and Tours have been featured on local news programs as well as in national publications such as Better Homes and Gardens and Midwest Living. This program is free and registration is available by calling 778-7527, by registering online at, or by visiting The Pendleton Community Public Library.

St. Ambrose fall rummage starts Thursday

ANDERSON — St. Ambrose, 2800 Morton St., will host its fall rummage sale Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Black Nurses scholarship tea Oct. 19

ANDERSON — The annual Black Nurses Scholarship tea is set for 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Anderson Zion Church. The $20 donation funds scholarships.

Keynote speaker will be Damita Williams, chief nursing officer at Children's Hospital of Michigan.

AHS Class of '48 to meet on Friday

ANDERSON — The Anderson High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Rigo's at Grandview Golf Course, 1905 Northshore Blvd.

The class's "Last Gasp" 65-year reunion is planned at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 17 at Rigo's.

Barbecue dinners benefits Church Upon the Rock

ANDERSON — The Pittt BBQ, 19th and Morton, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, will host the third annual barbecue fundraiser benefiting The Church Upon the Rock from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Cost is $7 per dinner and includes choice of rib tip dinner or brisket dinner. Both come with baked beans and potato salad.

Delivery is available for four or more orders.

McLaughlin appearing Friday at Indiana Wesleyan

MARION -- Anderson resident Jon McLaughlin will be in concert Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University Phillippe Phillippe Performing Arts Center.

Opening act, Mikey Wax, will take the stage at 9:30 p.m., with McLaughlin to follow.

McLaughlin's an all-new album was released this week called “Holding My Breath,” and he's kicking off a national tour at the same time.

His last album "Forever if Ever" debuted at #1 on several iTunes charts including the Singer Songwriter Top 200 album chart and the iTunes Top 100 songs. It also landed in the Top 20 of the overall Albums Chart and brought him an invitation to perform on the CBS Early Show.

Frankie Valli concert canceled

INDIANAPOLIS -- Due to a recent scheduling conflict with the production of "The Jersey Boys" film, the Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons concert on Sunday at the Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre has been canceled. Refunds are available at point of purchase.
