---- — ALEXANDRIA — Local artisans are offering classes on Saturdays at The Commons Theatre, 204 W. Church St., Alexandria.

Acrylic Painting — All ages and skill levels welcome. Bring a picture you'd like to paint, or choices will be available. $40. All materials provided. Teacher Lisa Lozinak. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.

Water Color with Pen and Ink — ages 8+ $22; All materials provided. Teacher Pam Luck. 10 to 11:30 a.m. Oct..19; new class, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Oct. 26.

Glass Etching — ages 13+. Teacher Sue Goffinet. Oct 12, 4 to 5:30 p.m.; new class, Oct. 19, 4 to 5:30 p.m. $12, plus on site you will purchase the glassware you wish to etch (items ranging $5-15 each.)

Beginning Sewing — Girls ages 12-15. $15. All materials included to make a throw pillow while learning the basics of sewing (hand and machine.) Teacher Carolyn Dailey. Oct. 12, 1 to 3 p.m. New class Oct 26, 1 to 3 p.m.

Taffy Pull — Girls and boys 6-12 years. Oct. 19, 11 to 3 p.m. Teacher Bonnie Bryant. $10.50.

Christmas Scrap Bag — Make a mini album for yourself or as a gift. Bring 10-12 photos. Ages 12+. $20. Oct. 26, 1 to 3 p.m. Teacher Debbie Downey.
