---- — Epilepsy Support Group to meet Aug. 5

ANDERSON — The next Epilepsy Support Group meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at Park Place Community Center, 802 E. Fifth St.

The group meets the first Monday of each month.This event is free of charge but reservations are recommended by e-mailing Stacey Burns at epilepsysupportgroup@hotmail.com.

Anderson reunion set for Aug. 4

ALEXANDRIA — The 94th annual Anderson reunion will be held at Beulah Park, Alexandria, on Sunday, Aug. 4.

A pitch-in lunch will begin at 1 p.m.

The reunion committee includes president, Barbara (Pike) Petty; vice president, Brian Morgan; and secretary-treasurer, Frances (Anderson) Lewis.

Back to School Bash set for Aug. 3

ANDERSON — United in Christ Church, 538 E. 31st St., will have its annual Back to School Bash from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

School supplies, including notebooks, pencils, crayons and more will be given out.

VFW Post 266 to have frog leg dinner

ANDERSON — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, 3210 Columbus Ave., will have a frog legs dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Price is $7 and includes frog legs, fries, cole slaw and a roll. For more information call 642-8561.

Summit Lake SP to host bluegrass weekend

NEW CASTLE — Summit Lake State Park will host its inaugural Bluegrass Stampede weekend, Aug. 2-3, with special activities and a concert by The Stampede String Band.

The event starts at 8 p.m. on Friday, with a campfire pickin’ session, open to anyone with an instrument. Saturday activities include crafts, a prairie walk and a hobo costume contest. At 7 p.m. the Stampede String Band from nearby Moonsville will perform bluegrass at Harvey Shelter. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and cooler.

Activities are free after paying the standard park entry fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle. For more information, call park naturalist Amber Parrish-Hook, 766-5873.

Historical Society road trip is Sept. 28

ANDERSON — The Madison County Historical Society is sponsoring a combination sightseeing and shopping trip on Saturday, Sept. 28 to historic Metamora with a stop along the way to tour historic Huddleston Farm House and farmer's market near Cambridge City.

Travel will be via both chartered motor coach and the Whitewater Valley Railroad. The cost of the trip is $75 for adults and $68 for children ages 2-12. Classes of '59 to meet for lunch

ANDERSON — The first Tuesday of the month, area 1959 high school classmates and their guests are invited to lunch at Rigo's at Grandview from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This month's luncheon will be held Aug. 6.

40&8 to host Aug. 4 breakfast

ANDERSON — An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the Madison County Voiture 510, 40&8, 1600 Rangeline Road, Anderson.

The menu will include eggs (cooked to order), hash browns, biscuits and gravy, bacon, coffee, orange juice, and pancakes. Take out will be available. Cost is $7.
